ABRIDGED HISTORY
Countryside Manufacturing Services originated in Tampa, FL out of Mick and Donna Augustin’s detached garage during the 1990s. Both Mick and Donna are experienced in manufacturing. Mick served in the US Navy as a Machinery Repairman, Chief Petty Officer 2nd class and after the Navy, he worked in several machine shops as a machine programmer and operator. He was also the Manufacturing Manager for 10 years at a machine shop in Tampa. Donna worked as an operator at an injection molding company and operated machinery in their home garage. With a small customer base, the Augustin Family machined any small order that was within their manual lathe and mill/drill machine capabilities. Even their children wanted to help. The kids would help wash and package parts, and with supervision, make the parts. In 1997 they moved near the Sarasota – Bradenton area. By the mid-2000s, they had acquired a Bridgeport retrofit CNC mill that would ease them into slightly larger production. Although the backyard shop did generate some revenue, Mick and Donna were focused on raising their family and never had a chance to launch a full-time venture. In 2016 they moved to Central Florida. Their move increased the demand for their machining services and a decision was made to launch a full-time venture.
Since Aaron attended college for engineering and business, he founded Countryside Manufacturing Services (CMS) as a sole proprietorship in his parents’ home in June of 2018. Initial services included creating computer CAD models and drawings for future production of customer goods. With the assistance of his parents, CMS grew rapidly. By August 2018, they secured a building and registered the business in Wildwood, FL. Equipment was moved, and they began setting up the new shop. In mid-December of 2018, the Augustin Family Partners filed with the Florida State Division of Corporations and refiled the Fictitious Name, Countryside Manufacturing Services, under new ownership. In October of 2022, Countryside Manufacturing Services relocated their shop to Oxford, Florida. Mick and Donna and two of their sons Aaron and Michael, continue to operate the shop. Some imminent developments at CMS include additive manufacturing and fully autonomous production.
